- You often hear about companies posting fake reviews.
How do I know that the reviews on Trustpilot aren't fake?
At Trustpilot we fight hard to identify fake reviews. We have a dedicated team that monitors all reviews and works with smart tools, making sure that fake reviews get busted. If you have the feeling that a review is fake, you have the possibility to report it and our team will investigate.
- Can companies pay Trustpilot to have negative reviews
removed from their profile?
No. But we reserve the right to delete a review if it violates our terms and conditions. In no other scenario would Trustpilot delete a company's negative reviews.
- How come a company that has lots of negative reviews
suddenly gets so many positive ones?
That is probably because the company has actively started to invite all their most recent customers to leave reviews on Trustpilot. Our experience tells us that satisfied customers are happy to leave reviews if they are being asked. Dissatisfied customers might not wait this long.
- Are companies allowed to collect reviews from selected
- It seems as if I can't write a review about a company
if I haven't made a purchase. Why do you restrict that?
We offer companies the option to only allow reviews from actual customers. To leave a review, an order ID has to be provided - this verifies that a user has actually purchased something from this company.
- Can companies block non-invited customers from leaving
No. Any customer who has documented proof of purchase, such as an order ID, can write a review of the company they purchased from.
- I just wrote a review and it's been blocked! Why is
Reviews can be blocked if they don't respect our guidelines. The review is not deleted though - it is put under quarantine in order for us to evaluate its accuracy.
- Can I write more than one review for the same
No. It is not possible to review the company more than once. But you can edit your review at any time from your profile page on Trustpilot.
